Trust & data protection

Pupil data, protected at the database.

Schools trust us with information about children. Here is how we look after it.

Separated at the database

Each school’s data is kept apart by the database itself, not just by application code, so one school can never see another’s.

Hosted in your region

Separate regional platforms on AWS for the UK, Nigeria and the rest of Africa, to meet local data rules.

Every look is logged

Every look at sensitive records is recorded in an access log.

Strong sign-in

Two-factor sign-in, breached-password checks and sign-in rules your school sets.

Safe by design

Safeguarding alerts, screen-time limits and crisis contacts for your country.

Your school stays in control

Your school decides which parts are switched on and who sees what. Switching something off never deletes anything.

Who is responsible for pupil data

Your school is the data controller for the personal data of its pupils, parents and staff, and works under its own data protection officer. ESJ Software Ltd processes that data on the school’s behalf, under a data processing agreement, and only to provide iPrepClass.

Some features widen who can see pupil information, for example showing marked work to parents. Those features stay off until your school has switched them on and accepted responsibility for them.

Questions and requests

For security questions, data processing agreements or our policies, email hello@iprepclass.com. Parents and pupils should contact their school first, as the school controls their data.

This website itself collects very little: see our Privacy notice.

Talk to us about data protection.

We’ll walk your school, your data protection officer or your ministry through how iPrepClass handles pupil data.
